Inspiration sometimes arrives in the most unexpected places. A friend’s photograph of pasta water spilling across a black stovetop became the spark for this imagined celestial landscape.
Marbled layers of black encaustic wax, thread foundations, hidden wood shavings, and the surprising beauty of ordinary dryer lint come together to suggest distant galaxies suspended in space. The materials may be humble, but together they invite us to pause, look closer, and discover wonder in the unexpected.
Perhaps that’s what art is meant to do—to reveal the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary, and remind us that transformation often begins with what others overlook.”
