Robeson Anton rayon embroidery thread, Shout color catchers, hand dyed silk
Some people collect stamps. Others collect stories. This couple collects sunsets—chasing them across years and landscapes, always seeking the perfect moment when sky and earth agree on something beautiful.
One evening in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, the light offered them a gift worth keeping. A single photograph captured the glow—but the moment demanded more. I created Sunset Dreams from that memory, building it with quilted Shout Color Catchers and hand-dyed silk, then overlaying sculpted threadwork that lets the colors shimmer and shift like the sky itself.
The piece portrays a place and celebrates a life spent looking up—where the promise of one more perfect sunset always lies just beyond the horizon.
