Storm Clouds Rising draws its form from memory as much as from thread and dryer lint. It recalls a midsummer afternoon you still feel in your bones—when the air cools without warning, the sky shifts to a heavy gray, and the scent of rain arrives before the storm. Tiny drops stipple the sidewalk, first softly, then in earnest, as the world seems to hold its breath.
The sculpture mirrors that moment of anticipation, with layered grays building, swirling, and gathering strength. Then, as in childhood, the storm passes. Soft blue threads begin to surface, signaling the return of bright skies and the enduring truth that even the wildest weather eventually yields to light.
