Some love stories begin with candlelight. This one begins with minerals and meteorites. I created For Eric for a couple whose first date took place inside the Harvard University Mineralogical and Geological Museum—where glittering stones and ancient formations quietly witnessed the start of something extraordinary.
I stitched her favorite palette, often seen in quilts, into luminous blues, greens, and violets for this sculptural threadwork. The grooves, crevices, and crystalline textures reflect his fascination with geological wonders. Layered together, they form a shimmering abstract—both mineral and memory. Among all the rare specimens in that museum, Eric walked out with the most precious gem of all.
