Rayon embroidery thread, tyvek envelopes, watercolor
From the smoldering remains of a standard business-class Tyvek envelope, something ancient stirred.
First came the crackling… the shimmering… the whisper of raucous embroidery thread recalling its destiny.
Then—IT HAPPENED.
A creature of flame and thread erupted into existence, defying gravity, recycling bins, and the natural lifespan of office supplies.
Observers gasped:
“Is it paper?”
“Is it textile?”
“No—NO… IT’S ALIIIIVE!”
I created Phoenix from junk mail and molten imagination. Spanning 38 inches across the wall, it commands silence, awe, and maybe even burnt offerings. Stand before it, and you’ll feel the heat of forgotten invoices, the shimmer of overdue statements, and the power of an envelope that refused to stay trash.
Like its mythic namesake, it has risen—not from ashes, but from the shredded remains of bureaucracy itself.
PHOENIX. The art world isn’t ready—but it doesn’t care.
