Spread the love

28″h x 24″w
Rayon embroidery thread, felt scraps

I began this piece as an experiment in building dimension with thread, and it quickly grew into an unexpected landscape of memory, erosion, and renewal. Dense sculpted fibers anchor the work, standing firm like the parts of life that refuse to disappear. Softer sections yield to change, fraying at the edges as new forms emerge.

The work holds the tension between what endures and what dissolves—the hard and the fragile—and captures the moment when loss opens space for something unfamiliar and alive. Like the land itself, time, grief, and grace reshape us, one textured layer at a time.
