Just two grey haired ladies about to land in Italy!
After a little kerfuffle with the airplane out of Philadelphia, my friend, Laura, and I arrived in Florence, Italy at a little after noon local time. Probably one of my worst pictures ever, but so excited…and so tired!!!
What an amazing sight out the window!!!
After a short nap at our hotel, Borghese Palace Art Hotel…(this was right outside our room!)…
we were ready to explore! Scenes from the Palazzo Vecchio…. Which is also where we had dinner a few hours later!
I love the streets of Italy…really! The STREETS! And the shops and the meandering causeways and the artists and artisans you meet along the way….
The picturesque sights by the Fiume Arno (River Arno)!!Sooooo scenic!!! Along the one area, it actually reminds me of the Mascara bridge over the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia!
Artist Eye Candy…. the store was closed, so we will be going back tomorrow!!!

But those who know me well know that, long before dinner, long before other shopping, there was that first, most important stop of the evening….
So we reach the end of Day 1. I can’t wait for tomorrow! But now I have to crash!!!
